RISING STAR James Bowen has been shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the year.
The top jockey was nominated alongside swimmer Freya Anderson and para-athlete Kare Adenegan for the award, which has been won by the likes of Wayne Rooney and Andy Murray.

Bowen, 17, hit the headlines when guiding old-timer Raz De Maree to a 16-1 success in the Welsh National in January.
The Gavin Cromwell-trained chaser became the oldest ever winner of the Chepstow marathon at the age of 13, while brilliant Bowen is the youngest rider to land the big race.
He also kicked home 58 winners on his way to becoming conditional jockeys champ last season.
Other notable victories came in the Lanzarote Hurdle and a Grade 3 handicap at Ascot.
